The must-attend industry event of 2017 is the Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) Conference, to be held 22 to 24 May with the support of major sponsors, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Pantaenius.
With the theme: “STAYING RELEVANT IN TODAYS GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT”, the 7th edition of ASMEX will return to Sanctuary Cove, hosted by the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, in the lead up to the 28th Sanctuary Cove International Boat show.
In 2017, topics to be covered by expert speakers include: Adapting to change; Understanding global economic and political forces; Ensuring your business retains the right expertise; Staying close to the customer; Keeping ahead of technology, among many more.
Registration has been maintained at 2016 rates, which is exceptional value given the content and caliber of speakers anticipated to confirm in the New Year, exceptional networking opportunities, hospitality and the Gala Dinner incorporating the 2017 Australian Marine Industry Awards.
Member registration is $395 + GST, while non-members pay $595 + GST. Accommodation at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort from Sunday 21 May to Wednesday 24 May has been secured at the special conference rate of $199 inc GST per night. From Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 May (Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show), the rate is $370 per night.

AIMEX-Superyacht Australia CEO, MaryAnne Edwards is confident the 2017 program will inspire and inform, making the event a compelling investment in any business related to the superyacht, manufacturing and commercial marine sectors.
Speakers will comprise business founders, CEOS and some of the heads of the most renowned superyacht brands globally.

In 2017, due to increasing uptake, the conference will relocate to MacArthurs Ballroom, which has capacity for up to 300 guests.
Martin Redmayne, Chairman and Editor-In-Chief of The Superyacht Group, returns as conference MC, emphasising the quality of speakers and the event’s value to delegates.

Paul Archer, CEO and founder of Arrow Yacht Services Monaco was among the guest speakers at ASMEX 2016. He has signaled he will be attending in 2017 as the event was “too good to miss”.

Another drawcard in 2017 is the presentation of the most significant piece of research for the Australian superyacht industry: the independent Economic Impact Study, funded with the support of the Queensland Government, which quantifies the actual value of the entire industry and importantly, its untapped potential.
“This is the first of its kind and certainly a valuable tool all businesses can use to their advantage,” explained Edwards. “The consultants who undertook the EIS will present their analysis at ASMEX 2017. We intend to use the EIS data to leverage investment in infrastructure and useful partnerships with Tourism, Events, Business, Training and other bodies who can benefit from the outstanding revenue potential of superyachts and allied industries.”
