AIMEX-Superyacht Australia CEO, MaryAnne Edwards is confident the 2017 program will inspire and inform, making the event a compelling investment in any business related to the superyacht, manufacturing and commercial marine sectors.

Speakers will comprise business founders, CEOS and some of the heads of the most renowned superyacht brands globally.

“During our visits to Monaco, METS and Singapore Yacht Show, we approached various industry luminaries we believe would supply content of value to ASMEX delegates,” stated Ms Edwards. “They had all heard of ASMEX via word of mouth and our consistent promotion internationally. Given the growing significance of our region on the world stage, we are confident of securing a stellar line-up of speakers for 2017 which will make ASMEX an absolutely compelling event for any business eager to maintain its relevance in the superyacht and commercial marine sectors.”

In 2017, due to increasing uptake, the conference will relocate to MacArthurs Ballroom, which has capacity for up to 300 guests.

Martin Redmayne, Chairman and Editor-In-Chief of The Superyacht Group, returns as conference MC, emphasising the quality of speakers and the event’s value to delegates.

“ASMEX has grown to become the leading marine industry conference in the region, attracting key players globally and addressing the hot topics that make a difference to businesses,” said Redmayne. “ASMEX 2017 will present top speakers drawn from senior levels – owners, directors and key proponents from all facets of industry.”

Paul Archer, CEO and founder of Arrow Yacht Services Monaco was among the guest speakers at ASMEX 2016. He has signaled he will be attending in 2017 as the event was “too good to miss”.

“Having attended many of these events over the years in different parts of the world, your Superyacht Conference was the best. To have such strength and depth of speakers was excellent and the presentation of the event went professionally and smoothly. I came away richer for listening to many speakers.

“From my company’s perspective, direct exposure to the Muir team and Rivergate was beneficial for we created friendships with people and companies in Australia whom we have worked with but not had the pleasure of meeting personally. We have stipulated Muir winches on several new builds we have been responsible for and had an excellent refit done at Rivergate for a world girdling yacht we are involved with.

“Since arriving back, we have been contacted by several parties interested in our services and have finalised on yacht registration for an Australian flag.”

Another drawcard in 2017 is the presentation of the most significant piece of research for the Australian superyacht industry: the independent Economic Impact Study, funded with the support of the Queensland Government, which quantifies the actual value of the entire industry and importantly, its untapped potential.

“This is the first of its kind and certainly a valuable tool all businesses can use to their advantage,” explained Edwards. “The consultants who undertook the EIS will present their analysis at ASMEX 2017. We intend to use the EIS data to leverage investment in infrastructure and useful partnerships with Tourism, Events, Business, Training and other bodies who can benefit from the outstanding revenue potential of superyachts and allied industries.”

ASMEX 2017 is relevant for manufacturers, exporters and suppliers to the superyacht industry and commercial marine sector such as: Agents, Boat Builders, Brokers, Captains, Equipment manufacturers, Government, Marina Developers, Marina Managers, Marine Insurers/Brokers, Port Operators, Refit & repair yards, and other relevant stakeholders.
