Kevin Altera has recently taken on the newly created role of Shipyard & Projects Director at Gold Coast City Marina, Australia’s most-awarded marina and shipyard.  With close to 30 years experience in senior management roles within the marine industry Kevin has a very strong background and global experience in superyacht construction and project management.  Greg Norman’s 228 foot M.Y. Aussie Rules and the refit of 305 foot Lurssen S.Y. EOS are among a couple of his more significant projects.

Having worked for leading edge companies including Evolution Yachts, Oceana Holdings, Oceanfast and Superyacht Interiors Kevin has a laser like focus on excellence in customer service and continuous quality improvement.

“The owners commitment to GCCM and the team here are amazing.  I have had the opportunity over the years to work for some great owners and fantastic teams, but the combination of both at GCCM is by far the best yet,” said Kevin Altera.

“My role here gives me the opportunity to renew the operations following the massive rebranding of GCCM and take it to the next level.  With our facilities and GCCM’s world-class trade base the possibilities are endless.

We can do just about anything – a simple antifoul job, minor and major refits, conversions and new builds.  There are not many places in the world that can claim this fact and you really don’t have to go out the front gate for anything.”

GCCM is also currently installing eight additional superyacht work berths that will provide vehicle access, water and power up to 400 amps.  The million dollar upgrade to facilities is due for completion by the middle of March 2017.

Mr Altera’s wealth of experience and the planned enhancements to current facilities will ensure GCCM maintains its position as the premier maintenance and refit hub in Australia for vessels of all sizes.
