The  last  year  has  been  extremely  busy  for  VEEM.  During  the  year  we  have  completely
redesigned,  rebuilt,  tested  and  sea  trialed  a  second  generation  of  VEEM  Gyro.  Whilst
this  has  delayed  early  sales  of  the  product,  we  believe  that  the  effort  has  been  very
worthwhile  as  the  VEEM  Gyro  is  now  an  even  better  piece  of  equipment  that  will
redefine  what  is  considered  possible  with  gyro  stabilization.

Late  in  2014  we  had  signed  off  the  product  for  release  and  took  this  offering  to  METS
2014.  We  were  frankly  blown  away  by  the  level  of  interest  in  the  product  at  the  show.
When  we  returned  to  Australia  and  met  to  discuss  plans  for  the  future,  part  of  the
conversation  was  around  future  product  development  options.  After  lengthy  discussion
we  took  the  unusual  decision  to  bring  forward  some  the  of  the  future  planned
developments  for  the  product  to  immediate  effect.  In  January  2015  we  embarked  on  a
complete  redevelopment  of  the  bearing  lubrication  and  cooling  system,  with  the  aim  of
drastically  extending  the  bearing  life, and  reducing  the  already  very  acceptable  noise
levels  of  the  product. At  the  time,  the  bearings  were  grease  lubricated.  The  sound  level
had  been  formally  measured  at  74d BA  at  1m.  Given  that  the  VG120  model  produced
65%  more  torque  than  its  nearest  competitor,  that  sound  level  was  considered  to  be
pretty  good.

Since  then  we  have  changed  the  bearing  lubrication  system  from  grease  to  oil  jet.  This
has  not  been  a  small  undertaking,  as  the  system  is  required  to  run  under  vacuum  to
minimize  the  power  demanded  to  spin  the  flywheel,  it  has  to  be  extremely  compact,
easy  to  operate,  and  robustly  reliable.  We  are  very  proud  to  announce  that  the  new  oil
lubricated  VEEM  Gyro  model  range  is  now  in  series  production.  Bearing  life  has  been
massively  extended,  maintenance  of  the  system  in place,  without  removing  any  major
components  is  now even faster  and  more  convenient,  and  the  sound  levels  of  the
machine  have  been  smashed.

The  VEEM  Gyro  120  has  been  formally  sound  level  tested  at  66  dBA  at  1m  from  the
machine!  This  is  a  completely  new  benchmark  in  quiet  operation  for  gyro  stabilizers,
and  stabilizers  in  general.  Our  aim  was  to  reduce  the  noise  level  to  a  new  benchmark
low,  but  we  never  dared  hope  for  the  outcome  that  has  been  achieved.

So,  now  the  VEEM  gyro  range  is  not  only  the  most  powerful  range  of  gyrostabilizers
available  by  a  large  margin,  but  also  the  quietest,  easiest  to  operate  and  easiest  to
maintain.

Sea  trials  on  a  commercial  vessel  in  the  waters  off  Fremantle,  Western  Australia  have
now  emphatically  demonstrated  the  performance  of  the  VEEM  Gyro.  In  small,  moderate
and  rough  wave  conditions.  Interested  parties  are  invited  to  witness  this  performance.

As  announced  recently,  in  2015  we  have  also  added  the  option  of  actively  driven  precession
(ADP) to  all  VEEM  Gyro  models,  for  yachts  with  very  long  rolling  periods.
For  these  vessels,  ADP  provides  a  significant  increase  in  effective  stabilizing  torque  for
the  given  size  of  gyro  installation.,  For  most  superyachts,  with  rolling  periods  less  than  8
seconds,  this  option  is  not  required  and  not  recommended  by  VEEM.  However  our
customers  now  have  the  choice.

Manufacturers  recommended  pricing  for  the  VEEM  Gyro model  range  is  as  follows:

VEEM  Limited  is  a  renowned  manufacturer  of  innovative  products  for  the  tournament
fishing  boat,  luxury  motor  yacht,  and  military  and  fast  ferry  industries.  Operating  from  a
10500m^2  facility  in  Perth,  Western  Australia  since  1968,  the  company  was  responsible
for  the  very  successful  patented  Interceptor  propeller  technology  that  allows  the
effective  pitch  of  VEEM  propellers  to  be  altered,  without  even  slipping  the  vessel.  In
addition  to  it’s  product  offerings,  VEEM  also  manufactures  stabilizing  fins  for  the  US
Navy  LCS  vessel  program,  Austal  Ships  fast  ferries,  and  both  the  Australian  Naval  and
Customs  Service  Patrol  Boat  fleets.  The  VEEM  Gyro  is  the  company’s  most  recent
innovative  marine  product  development. Details  of  show  appearances  for  the  VEEM  Gyro
