Rivergate Marina & Shipyard was recognised for its world-class service and standards with the 2017 MIA Award for Best Boat Yard (20+ boats).

Accepting the award, General Manager, Andrew Cannon said it was an honour receive the award at Marine17 on behalf of the management, tenants and contractors.

“It’s a great addition to awards we have won over the years. We won Best Commercial Marina two years ago and we were finalists in Best Marina & Shipyard, added to the many AIMEX Awards we have won for our facilities and service.

“It’s testament to the professionalism that is instilled from management to all contractors, our 20+ marine professional businesses and trades onsite and talented pool of local contract trades. In the past 10 years, we have really raised the bar and created a niche sector that suits our strengths.”

Rivergate offers complete project management for Superyachts, commercial vessels and pleasure boats, welcoming 50 superyachts each year, around 20 percent of those for significant refit work requiring the full complement of specialised skills concentrated at Rivergate, superbly located on the Brisbane River.

Vessels span the gamut of commercial purpose, from whale watching boats and high-tech hybrid ferries to luxury charter vessels – all of them prioritising timely work, to budget and with quality workmanship.

Rivergate’s 105 berth marina has 24-hour security and fuel, as well as deep water access on any tide. The Shipyard includes a 12,000sqm hardstand, 75 and 300 tonne travelifts and 320 approved contractors in over 20 trades.
